Our Journey from Dentists to Innovators
Our Story
Eikona X was founded by Dr. Shruthi Acharya and Dr. Shruti Singh, both dentists with a shared passion for improving the dental X-ray process. Recognizing the challenges associated with traditional dental radiography—such as positioning errors, patient discomfort, and unnecessary radiation exposure—they set out to create a more accurate and patient-friendly solution.
Their efforts led to the development of Tarsier X®, a patented dental radiography system designed to eliminate common X-ray errors and streamline the process for dental professionals. With support from Manipal-GoK Bioincubator and grants like Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG 15) from Govt. of India and Elevate 2023 from Govt. of Karnataka, the team brought Tarsier X® to life. This product has already garnered recognition, winning awards such as the 3M-CII Young Innovators Challenge and the BRIC IKP Idea Innovator Exposure Stipend.
As a startup, Eikona X aims to transform dental radiology by providing a solution that is not only cost-effective and efficient but also safe for both patients and professionals. The company’s journey has been one of innovation, growth, and a commitment to enhancing dental care worldwide.

Dr. Shruthi Acharya – Co-Founder
Dr. Acharya is a dentist with over 25 years of experience in Oral Medicine and Radiology. She is a passionate researcher, having authored over 25 publications, and serves as a Ph.D. supervisor at Manipal Academy of Higher Education. As a trailblazer, she has initiated a fully automated campus visit program- Destination Manipal. Dr. Acharya’s leadership is the driving force behind the development of Tarsier X®, and she is instrumental in the company’s vision and strategic direction. Her entrepreneurial journey has led Eikona X to achieve multiple recognitions and grants, helping establish the company as an innovative leader in dental technology.
Dr. Shruti Singh – Co-Founder
Dr. Shruti Singh is a dedicated dental professional and entrepreneur passionate about advancing dental technology and improving patient care, particularly for cancer survivors. With over eight years of clinical experience and multiple patents, she co-founded Eikona X Innovative Solutions Pvt Ltd, which developed a precise dental radiograph device inspired by her experience treating a cancer survivor. Known for her innovative and creative mindset, Dr. Singh applies purposeful thinking to solve complex healthcare challenges, combining clinical insight with cutting-edge technology. She brings the same ingenuity to managing Eikona X, where she fosters a collaborative culture, leverages user feedback for product refinement, and implements agile development methods to accelerate innovation and ensure clinical relevance. A BDS graduate from Manipal College and a current Master’s student in Prosthodontics at Bapuji Dental College, she has participated in global programs like the University of British Columbia exchange and the GGI Medical Scholars Program. Recognized by C-CAMP and 3M-CII for her innovation, she mentors startups, leads oral health awareness initiatives, and has spoken for platforms like Zen Onco.io, all while working to make oral healthcare more accessible.
